Logging in overview

Logging in enables you to manage your accounts. You use a valid user ID and password to log in.

If the forgotten password function is on, you must also configure forgotten password information that is used when you forget your password.

You are given a specific number of attempts to successfully log in before the system does not allow you to use the user ID again. If you exceed the maximum number of attempts, contact your system administrator to reset your account.

If your password has expired, you are prompted to change it before the login process can be completed.

By default, you have an infinite number of tries to log in. If the default is a finite number, such as three, and you exceed the number of tries, your account is suspended. Both the failed login tries and the failed forgotten password question tries are included in the default maximum number of tries. Given a default of three tries, a user who fails twice to log in, and also fails the forgotten password question once, is locked out. The user must request help from an administrator or help desk assistant to log in.
